Posts Tagged ‘Tif Talks Books’

I totally lifted this meme from Lost in Books who lifted it from Tif Talk’s Books and because I literally read all of the books over a two week period last fall I wanted to participate. Since I seem to be in good company in simultaneously being wicked excited about the last movie and being overwhelmingly sad about it. No more imagining what’s next for Harry and his gang. So, please tell me what your favorites are.

By the way—in the off chance that you haven’t read all the books, be aware there are spoilers. Although by this point I don’t think I should have to say that.

When and Where (when you first discovered the series)
: I remember first seeing the books in Border’s books (how sad about them, but that’s another post) as I used to go there all the time with my then 6 year old and one-year old sons. My oldest (now 20) immediately wanted to read it because he slightly resembled the little boy on the cover. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was the first chapter book he read. Yes, he needed a little help with some of the words, but for the most part he got it and absolutely loved it. My mother convinced me to read it after she did.
Favorite Character: Sirius Black is my favorite character. He was mis-understood and represented so much to Harry and it was so bitter-sweet when at the end of the third book Harry couldn’t go live with him. He was Harry’s anchor and I remember bawling my eyes out when he died.

Most Hated Character: Definitely Delores Umbridge. She was a BITCH with a capital W.

Favorite Book: Hmmm, this is a difficult one to answer.  I had the most emotional response to the 5th book (Order of the Phoenix). But honestly, I think I enjoyed the first one and the last one the most.

Favorite Movie: Deathly Hallows Pt 1 and that is probably because I’ve yet to see the last one. Actually, I may amend that to the first one, Sorcerer’s Stone. Those two were the ones so far that have kept the integrity of the books. I’m sure based on the buzz that the last one does as well.

Rank the Books (1 = favorite, 7 = least favorite):

1. Sorcerer’s Stone

2. Deathly Hallows

3. Order of the Phoenix

4. Prisoner of Azkaban

5. Goblet of Fire

6. Half-Blood Prince

7. Chamber of Secrets
Most Memorable Scene: When Sirius was killed.

What You Will Miss the Most: Ron, Hermione, and Harry

What You Are Looking Forward To (even despite the end): The end of Harry, but I’d love her to write a prequel and tell us James and Lily’s story with Lupin, Sirius and Snape.

What about you? Do you love Harry as much as I do?

Tell me what your thoughts are.
