did not do table shots or max out my credit cards. I’ll wait for you to finish singing the Katy Perry song.

Ok, done? Good.  No, last night is the last time I am going to spend time another night moping around. Clearly, I am my own worst enemy so I woke up this morning with a conviction to change it. The time I felt most confident about myself (not that I ever really had, but relatively speaking) was when I was running and exercising. I had signed up for a half-marathon and decided that I wasn’t going to wast the entrance fee money by not actually running the thing. And run it I did. (look at 2008-2009 posts).

So I woke up this morning feeling a little foolish and sorry for myself and decided, enough is enough. Thanks to Rachel, my FB friend, I realized, I am enough. But I can’t sit around feeling sorry for myself. It’s not been working out so well. So, I woke up this morning, threw on the old sports bra and workout clothes (some still fit) and put on the sneakers. And went for a walk. With no agenda other than to walk around the park from my house. Who knew that there is a mile long track there. Six years in this apartment and I never knew that. And before you knew it, I was not just walking but talking running intervals.

That’s when I decided. When I was sweating, with this view

and dodging these guys

that I decided I was going to sign up for the Disney Princess Marathon in March. Hopefully, it doesn’t coincide with any gymnastics meets. But I need to do this. I need to commit to it and just stop talking about how shit everything is and taking some steps to make it better. Some things are out of my control. But this, my health, my fitness level, yea, that I can take care of.

Because I am enough reason to.

I can’t believe that it is almost July already. It’s been a rather eventful week. The Heat won the Championship! <insert much swearing, cheering and arm flailing>, the kid came back from camp in one piece. I think she slept for three days straight and hasn’t stopped talking about it for three days. Pretty impressive considering it’s only been 4 days since she’s been back.  I had a great visit with my friend, Leilani, who was in town from Arizona and I watched Love Actually.

Yes, that qualifies as a big deal and needs to have a spot in this post. I usually only ever watch Love Actually during the months of November and December. It’s a thing. However, I was in this place on Saturday and I just wanted to watch it. Sometimes you just need to know that love, actually is all around you.

I’ve been discovering some awesome music lately too.  My favorite so far has to be Paloma Faith  What an amazing singer. This album is great. Seriously, how do we not know about this chick in America!?!?

Listen to that, watch Love Actually, and ponder some of the deeper things in life.  It’s what I do.

I’m still here. Doing the same thing that I’ve always done.  Which isn’t to say that is a bad thing. Everyone who knows me know that I like and thrive on routine and consistency.  Which is what I’ve got going on these days.

Shy is at gymnastics camp. I can’t believe how much I miss that kid. But she is having an amazing time so I will have to learn to deal with it. I am going to meet a friend out for a drink on Thursday. It’ll be good to get out and about.

I have been in a book slump in a big way lately. I’ve been reading lots and lots of non-fiction and self-improvement (self-help sounds so derogatory) books on eating, diet and organization. All three of which I am in desperate need of assistance. The last novel I read was Something Borrowed by Emily Griffin. I was late to that party. It was a good chick-lit book. If you got over the whole she’s cheating on her friend and her fiance. But I never followed the regular rules, so I could overlook that.

Something else I’m late to is the Spotify party. OMFG!! How come I haven’t jumped on this before this. As I type this impromptu blog post I’m listening to Adele. And whatever eff the else I feel like. I am debating paying for the premium as I have the app on the phone and it would be so cool to have that at my beck and call.

Movies are something I’m also late to, but I’ve been catching up on my television entertainment.  Last one I watched is The Hurt Locker, which was so, so, so good.  I need more Jeremy Renner in my life. So of course, I’ve added all of his films onto my Netflix Queue.

Well, that’s all for me since the Miami Heat are about to play Game 4 in the Finals against Oklahoma City. I foresee much swearing in my future. Go Heat!!
